  • Al Nassr played host to new boys Al Ahli
  • The Riyadh-based side secured a 4-3 victory on the night
  • Cristiano Ronaldo set a new record as he guided his side to a victory

Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr continued their early season resurgence with another victory against Ah Ahli.

The highly anticipated clash against the league's new boys, managed by former RB Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle was the headline fixture of the Saudi Pro League, given the array of European stars both sides have acquired over the summer window.

The game which did live up to the billing, was lit up as early as the fourth minute thanks to Al Nassr's number 7, Ronaldo.

Brazilian forward Anderson Talisca ensured Luis Castro's side raced into a commanding lead with his belter in the 17th minute.

Despite the efforts of former Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie doing his bit to cut down his team's deficit, Talisca again restored his side's two-goal advantage going into the break.

According to ESPN's report, the second half wasn't without its fair share of fireworks as an early penalty conceded by Talisca - who had nothing short of an eventful evening would ensure former Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez would half his team's deficit.

Ronaldo again extended Al Nassr's lead with a left-foot strike from the edge of the box. Before new signing, Firas Al-Buraikan would score a late consolation goal for Matthais Jaissle's side.

Ronaldo sets new record

The win though, meant Portuguese star Ronaldo would further etch his name more profound into the prints of football's record books. As he became the men's player with the most wins in football's history - 777, extending his record against rival Lionel Messi, as reported by Givemesport.

The forward who declared his love for the Saudi league at the end of the game will shift his focus to next Friday's meeting against Al Taee.

Ronaldo performs Saudi traditional dance

Sports Brief also reported on Ronaldo showcasing his appreciation for Saudi culture by performing a traditional dance after scoring two goals for Al-Nassr in their Saudi Pro League match against Al-Shabab.

The Portuguese veteran and club captain, who has been in excellent goal-scoring form since the start of the new season, played a pivotal role in the Knights of Najd's dominant win at home at Al-Awwal Park.

Following his accurate penalty kick, Ronaldo momentarily set aside his signature 'Siuuu' celebration and other newer styles in favour of showcasing Saudi Arabian culture - by displaying his dancing skills.
