According to talkSPORT, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has hit the ground running at the Florida-based club after a scintillating start to life in the US.

The 36-year-old has already scored an impressive 11 goals in 11 across competitions.

His heroics recently helped the club win their first-ever piece of silverware when they lifted the Leagues Cup in August.

However, despite still having an active contract with Inter Miami, Messi seems to be planning for life beyond the MLS.

Messi hints at his next

Speaking during an exclusive interview with Argentine media outlet Olga, Messi dropped the biggest hint yet on his next destination.

According to the Argentina international, he has a desire to play in his home country once he brings to a close his career abroad.

“I always had the idea of being able to enjoy Argentine football, to play for Newell’s and, even more, to be world champion,” Messi revealed.

However, the forward remained coy when asked what he intends to do when he hangs his boots.

Martino explains Messi's injury

Sports Brief previously reported on Inter Miami boss Tata Martino explaining Lionel Messi's injury against Toronto and downplaying fears that the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner suffered a muscle injury.

The former PSG star was spotted holding his hamstring during warm-ups but the coach claimed it was a scar from a previous injury - the same that saw him sidelined vs. Bolivia.
