Former Chelsea midfielder, N’Golo Kante officially introduced himself to the Saudi Pro League with a wonder goal for his new club Al-Ittihad on Thursday.
The French midfielder joined Al-Ittihad in the summer after his contract at Chelsea ran out, and is currently one of the highest-paid players in the league.
His new team, who are strong contenders for the title, came up against Al-Fateh, and despite being at home, went behind through Moroccan midfielder Marwane Saadane's goal at the half-hour mark.
As cited on SportBible, Romarinho restored parity for his side eight minutes later, and the game was turned on its head just before halftime thanks to a lovely strike from Kante.
He collected the ball on the edge of the penalty area and did well to beat his man before unleashing a curling strike that was simply too good for the goalkeeper to keep out.
The shot came off the post and went into the net to give Al-Ittihad a deserved lead.
Since then, a compilation of Kante’s performance has gone viral on social media and it is safe to say the French international is back to his best.
It is just as well that Kante took up scoring duties as Al-Ittihad were playing without their talisman, Karim Benzema, who missed the game through illness.
