  • Harry Kane's future was a subject of transfer speculation during the summer transfer window
  • The former Tottenham Hotspur forward eventually completed a big transfer to Bayern Munich
  • Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United were among the clubs eyeing Kane

Harry Kane completed a £104 million transfer to German champions, Bayern Munich after a summer-long saga involving his former side, Tottenham Hotspur and a host of other European clubs.

The 30-year-old, who has wasted little time hitting the ground running with the Bundesliga giants, has immediately become a mainstay in coach Thomas Tuchel's side.

Ahead of the Bavarians' UEFA Champions League clash against Manchester United, the discussion has returned to Kane and the events surrounding his blockbuster move, with reports indicating the Red Devils were keen on securing a deal for the striker.

Unfortunately for Erik ten Hag and the Man United hierarchy, the English striker opted for a move to the Bundesliga club instead.

However, a recent report by The Athletic claims Bayern Munich had to fend off offers from two other European powerhouses, including Real Madrid, in order to get the signing of Kane over the line.

Real Madrid submitted bid for Harry Kane

The media outlet reports state Kane, who also was courted by the Saudi Pro League, had his eyes fixed on continuing his career in Europe.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to have shown interest in the Tottenham ace, as had Real Madrid. The Spanish giants had previously made a £60 million bid for the forward.

Nonetheless, it was Bayern Munich that Tottenham chief, Daniel Levy agreed to negotiate with.

Los Blancos' search for a striker looks set to continue next summer after they opted to pursue the 2023/24 season without an arrowhead, following the departure of Karim Benzema.

Recent reports from transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano have stated the La Liga club could finally secure a deal for long-time target, Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2024.

Kane sets Ballon d'Or target with Bayern

Sports Brief also reported on Kane setting a Ballon d'Or target for himself after moving to Germany despite missing out on silverware during his many years at Tottenham.

The Englishman believes he scores enough goals to be in contention and the only thing missing is trophies. He will be in the conversation for the award if his team wins.
