- The club already has key players out with injuries, including Vinicius Jr. and Thibaut Courtois
Real Madrid veteran defender, Dani Carvajal is set to miss the next few games with injury. The 31-year-old suffered a muscle injury in training, and his participation in the next few games is in doubt.
The Spanish giants have been hit badly by injuries this season. Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, Arda Guler, Vinicius Jr., Dani Ceballos, and Ferland Mendy are out with injuries.
Carvajal has played 90 minutes in four of Real Madrid's five games this season. Due to the injury, he will miss the UEFA Champions League clash against Union Berlin and the La Liga derby against Atletico Madrid.
The injury comes at a time when Carvajal was hitting top form. He provided an assist this season and helped Madrid to a 100% start to the season. Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti said that the defender may still play on Sunday.
"He has a strain, and tomorrow he will have tests. We preferred to give him a rest, the player is fine and we think it is not going to be something serious. He still has a chance to play on Sunday, the feelings of the player are quite good. But tests tomorrow," he said, via Football Espana.
Possible Carvajal replacements
Ancelotti said that Lucas Vazquez will have to play in Carvajal's place. Moreover, captain Nacho Fernandez and Antonio Rudiger could also play at right-back if required.
Madrid have won all five games of their 2023/24 season and would love that to continue when they face the German side on Wednesday night.

FootballEven without Vinicius Jr., Madrid have been able to perform, especially with their backs against the wall. They had to come back from a one-goal deficit against a stubborn Real Sociedad side last Sunday to win 2-1. Jude Bellingham has been their best player so far, with five goals in five games.
Carvajal's most influential Madrid players
Sports Brief earlier reported on Carvajal naming the three most important players during his time at Real Madrid. He did not hesitate when naming the three players.
"Cristiano [Ronaldo], Sergio Ramos, and Luka Modric."
Those three played vital roles for Madrid in their recent dominant period, in which they won five Champions Leagues in nine seasons, including three in a row from 2016 to 2018.
