Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has conceded that he is under immense pressure following the club's disastrous start to the new season.

The Red Devils have been struggling for form and results five games into the new campaign, having managed just two wins in the fixtures played.

United suffered a 3-1 humiliating defeat at the hands of rivals Arsenal before the international break and were hoping to return to winning ways when action resumed this weekend.

However, they were handed yet another reality check as Brighton condemned them to a comprehensive 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Goals from Danny Welbeck, Pascal Gross, and Joao Pedro secured Brighton a comfortable win, per the BBC.

The defeat saw United mark their worst start to the season since 2014 when they managed a paltry five points from five games under then-boss Louis van Gaal.

Ten Hag admits he is under pressure

Ten Hag has now admitted that he is under increasing pressure to get United's campaign back on track.

"The pressure is always there. It was last year and this year is no different," the ex-Ajax boss said, via The Mirror.
"Of course, at United, you have to win your games. We have to improve and I can’t be distracted. We have to improve. Individuals have to step up. Sometimes you are in bad periods and you have to face that," he added.

The Dutchman made the admission ahead of the Red Devils' Champions League group opener against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Man United fans boo Ten Hag

Sports Brief also reported the discontent among Manchester United fans directed towards Erik ten Hag.

This unrest stemmed from the manager's choice to substitute Rasmus Hojlund during the second half while the team was seeking a comeback against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The decision to replace Hojlund was met with audible disapproval from the Old Trafford crowd, with boos resonating throughout the stadium in response to the manager's call.
