Super Eagles star Moses Simon scored a 'Puskas Contender' goal in Nantes 1-0 win over Clermont Foot in the French Ligue 1.

In a viral video on social media, Simon was seen dropping a cold celebration after scoring a stunner against Clermont Foot.

The first half of the game ended in a goalless draw, but Nantes scored very early in the second half to seal all three points, according to Soccernet.

Clermont Foot tried to build from the back but lost the ball to Florent Mollet. The Nantes player then passed the ball to Simon, who wasted no time in striking the ball from 40 yards out to score a stunner.

Simon's goal in the 48th minute was enough for Nantes to secure all three points, but are still 15th on the French Ligue 1 table.

The Nigerian winger now has one goal, and two assists in the first five games in the French League this season.

Nantes will hope to build on this in their next league game, which is against Lorient at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

Simon Ranked Ahead of Mbappe

Sports Brief earlier reported that Super Eagles star Moses Simon has been ranked ahead of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe on the list of fastest players in the French Ligue 1 this season.

The Nigerian international, who plays for Nantes, made the list over some pacy wingers like Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele after four rounds of games in the league.

According to 90mins, the Nigerian winger is the second fastest player in the French league with 35.97 km/h, with Olympique Marseille defender Jonathan Clauss owning the top spot with 36.11 km/h.
