  • Takefusa Kubo has demonstrated he is one of the most skillful players in La Liga
  • The Real Sociedad forward produced a nutmeg on veteran midfielder Toni Kroos
  • The Japanese right-winger was on target for his team but VAR nullified the goal

Japanese superstar, Takefusa Kubo was up to his usual tricks, pulling off an incredible piece of skill during Real Sociedad's visit to Real Madrid in La Liga.

The 22-year-old produced a moment of pure magic despite his side suffering a 2-1 defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Sunday evening.

The left-footed trickster bamboozled veteran midfielder, Toni Kroos with some fancy footwork, leaving the German looking somewhat embarrassed.

With Kubo starting an attack from the right wing in the 47th minute of the game, the Real Madrid midfielder tried to close down and block him from surging forward.

However, in a video shared on social media, the 33-year-old World Cup winner left a clear gap between his legs, which the Real Sociedad sensation utilised to devastating effect.

Kroos, who was no doubt humiliated by the move, could do nothing but pull Kubo down for a foul.

Unfortunately, things didn’t end well for Real Sociedad and their Japanese star. They suffered their first loss in the 2023/24 Spanish Primera Division, per Soccerway.

It pretty much appears the ex-Real Madrid and Barcelona youngster will dazzle fans with snippets of outrageous flair and technique every week.

Although Kubo joined Los Blancos four years ago, he never had the chance to feature in any official matches wearing the white jersey of the club.

Kubo had Sociedad goal disallowed

Meanwhile, the BBC reports that Real Sociedad seemed to be on the verge of taking a 2-0 lead within the first ten minutes, only for the goal to be disallowed.

Kubo had executed a truly spectacular goal, but the referee and VAR could not confirm its validity.

The reason behind this decision was the offside position of Oyarzabal during the play. Real Sociedad's captain inadvertently obstructed the path of the shot, leading to the disqualification of the goal.

Real Madrid's comeback win against Sociedad

Sports Brief also reported on Real Madrid earning a comeback win over Real Sociedad to climb back to the top of La Liga on Sunday, maintaining their perfect start to this season.

After Barcelona put five past Real Betis in a flashy display on Saturday, the onus was on Carlo Ancelotti's side to maintain their 100% record against the tricky Basque visitors.
