Mason Greenwood has got rare public support from Manchester United star Amad Diallo after the striker finally made his much-awaited debut for Getafe.
The embattled youngster recently sealed a move to the La Liga side to resuscitate his football career.
According to The Mirror, United sent out Greenwood on loan to the Spanish side on Deadline Day after backlash from a section of fans over plans to reintegrate the striker into the squad.
The Red Devils were reportedly planning to get the Englishman back into the team more than a year and a half after he was suspended following his arrest to face a string of charges, including assault.
The 21-year-old was left off the hook back in February when the charges were dropped before United instituted another internal probe.
Diallo shows support for Greenwood
Upon signing for Getafe, the United academy graduate had to wait until Sunday before he could make his much-anticipated debut against Osasuna.
The forward was subbed on in the 77th minute of the match, only for his introduction to spark a mixed reception from fans.
However, this was not the case with Diallo, who took to Instagram to offer his support, as cited by X user @DeadlineDayLive
The Ivorian winger posted an image of him watching Greenwood in action, with two heart emojis accompanying the post.
