According to Express UK, the striker made the start upfront after an exciting cameo during the Red Devils' 3-1 defeat at Arsenal before the international break.

However, the Dane did not last the entire 90 minutes of the Brighton match, as he was subbed off in the 64th minute to pave the way for Anthony Martial.

Ten Hag's decision to withdraw the forward sparked boos at Old Trafford from the United faithful.

However, the Dutchman is seemingly unperturbed by the jeers, as he strangely claimed they were 'positive.'

"It was positive," Ten Hag said when asked about the boos.
"You see the fans in the first moment at Old Trafford, reception was great, he performed very well, it was good they gave this signal, will give him belief. He came in with a small issue, he is not ready for a whole game," he added.

Brighton hammer Man United

Meanwhile, despite Ten Hag's technical tweak, his charges were unable to spring a comeback against Brighton.

BBC reports that the hosts found themselves trailing 1-0 after just 20 minutes, with former United striker Danny Welbeck handing the Seagulls the lead.

Hojlund thought he had pulled one back for the home side minutes before the break, but his goal was chalked off for an offside.

Pascal Grob went on to double Brighton's advantage in the 53rd minute before Joao Pedro took the game beyond Ten Hag's men in the 71st minute.

Brighton mock Man United

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Brighton have brutally mocked Manchester United on social media following their convincing Premier League win at Old Trafford.

United, who were keen to return to winning ways, were stunned 3-1 at home to continue with their horrendous start to the new season.
