Brighton humiliate Man United

In their recent loss to Brighton, the Seagulls emerged victorious with a 3-1 win at Old Trafford. Danny Welbeck, a former United player, haunted his old club once again by opening the scoring after 20 minutes.

Pascal Gross doubled Brighton's lead, and substitute Joao Pedro sealed the game despite a late consolation goal from Hannibal Mejbri, Eurosport reports.

Ronaldo shows Brighton who's boss

The defeat was a stark contrast to how Cristiano Ronaldo had inspired Manchester United to victory against the same team in 2022, with footage of his outstanding performance resurfacing online.

Ronaldo, now 38 and playing for Al-Nassr, scored a thunderous goal after weaving through Brighton's defence, helping United secure a 2-0 win, with Bruno Fernandes adding a last-minute goal, per ESPN.

United continue free fall after Brighton loss

Erik ten Hag's team faced adversity when former United forward Danny Welbeck scored in the first half, followed by goals from Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro in the second half, extending Brighton's lead.

This marked Manchester United's second consecutive defeat following their 3-1 loss to Arsenal before the international break.

With three losses in just five league games this season, United currently sits in 12th place and appears to be a club in disarray both on and off the pitch.

Man United fans boo Ten Hag

Sports Brief also reported the discontent among Manchester United fans directed towards Erik Ten Hag.

This unrest stemmed from the manager's choice to substitute Rasmus Hojlund during the second half while the team was seeking a comeback against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The decision to replace Hojlund was met with audible disapproval from the Old Trafford crowd, with boos resonating throughout the stadium in response to the manager's call.
