Mohamed Salah put himself in a league of his own with a new milestone thanks to an inspired performance as Liverpool came from behind to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In the early kick-off on Saturday, September 16, the Reds started sluggishly and were made to pay as Gary O’Neil’s side took the lead in the seventh minute through Hwang Hee-chan.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were second-best for the entire first half and it almost looked like it would be another one of those days where they can’t find a winner in an early kick-off.

Summer signing Alexis Mac Allister in particular had a dreadful first half in defensive midfield as he lost possession on several occasions. Still, the home side failed to take their chances, eventually coming to regret it.

“How many I assist you?”

In the second half, Klopp made some tweaks to his squad as he brought in Luis Diaz for the embattled Mac Allister, and it did not take long for the Reds to draw level.

Mohamed Salah's fizzing cross-shot found Cody Gakpo 10 minutes after the restart as Liverpool found the equalizer to shift momentum.

Salah was in the thick of things once again late in the game as he set up Andy Robertson for the left back to score in his 200th appearance as a Liverpool player.

Robertson’s goal completed the comeback, but Liverpool were not done as Salah teed up Harvey Elliott, whose shot deflected off Wolves’ Bueno and into the net.

Salah’s contributions on the day now puts him above the likes of Riyad Mahrez as he is now the African with the most assists in Premier League history, according to ESPN.

The top 5 of the bunch is as follows, as per GOAL.com.

1. Mohamed Salah 62 assists

2. Riyad Mahrez 61 assists

3. Didier Drogba 55 assists

4. Sadio Mane 38 assists

5. Emmanuel Adebayor 36 assists

Liverpool’s win puts them top of the Premier League table, albeit temporarily.
