As reported by Football Espana, the midfielder, who recently turned 38, downplayed a chance of returning to boyhood club Dinamo Zagreb, stressing the importance of the age he will be turning when his contract at the Spanish capital runs out.

However, in a surprising twist, the Croatian club Chief has openly expressed his immediate plan to bring back the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner to the club.

Dynamo Zagreb Chief on Luka Modric

Vlatka Peras, in his recent interview with Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, made it clear that he wants to bring Modric back to the club next summer.

“He is in the last year of his contract, I will call him in the winter. I can’t say I’m in constant contact with him, but I know members of his family.

Further speaking on how it would feel right for Modric to return to where he began his football he said:

“For him it would make sense to return to Dinamo at the end of his career. Without a doubt, Dinamo will do everything in its power to make this happen. Now we’ll see if that will be enough.”

It remains to be seen if Modric will return to Zagreb when his stay at the Spanish giant ends. However, the chances of Modric retiring at the La Liga club cannot be overlooked.
