In his first season with the club, he performed superbly, netting 19 goals in 35 appearances in the 2021/22 season, as per Transfermkt.

However, he was not very prolific in Switzerland, managing just six goals in 19 games. The two parties eventually decided to part ways after falling out of favour at the club. Sion ended up getting relegated from the Swiss Super League.

Barely 48 house after Sion president Christian Constantin confirmed the release of Balotelli the Italian has already found a new home, with his former club.

Adana Demirspor confirmed his signing on social media through a video that is doing rounds.

In the video Balotelli is seen having niceties with his new teammates, including a familiar face who was once his fierce rival.

The Italian is now set to be teammates with former Manchester United winger Nani, who joined Adana in the summer.

Fans with long memories will recall Balotelli as a cult hero for Manchester City in 2010 after signing from Inter Milan.

He spent three seasons at Manchester City, helping them win a maiden title in 2012 at the expense of Manchester United. In 80 appearances as a Manchester City player, Balotelli managed 30 goals.

It is yet to be seen whether the veteran striker will feature for his side in the league game on Saturday against Pendikspor FC.
