The football world has been paying tribute to Neymar for becoming Brazil's all-time goal-scorer. The 31-year-old now has 79 goals for Brazil in 125 appearances.

Before making his debut for his new club, Al-Hilal, he was honoured by the fans, who unveiled a massive banner with his image.

The Al-Hilal forward netted twice in Brazil's 5-1 win against Bolivia in a World Cup qualifying match. It was Neymar's first match for Brazil since they were eliminated from the 2022 World Cup by Croatia in December.

Pele's record has stood for decades. He played for Brazil between 1957 and 1971 and remains the only player to win three World Cups. The football icon passed away late last year after a long battle with cancer, per Sky Sports.

Although Neymar is Brazil's leading scorer, he has yet to win the coveted World Cup trophy. Brazil last won the title in 2002 and have not come close since.

Al-Hilal fans celebrate Neymar

Neymar made his debut for Al-Hilal in their clash against Al-Riyadh, a match they won 6-1. The Brazilian star came on in the 64th minute with the team leading 2-0.

Before coming on, he was honoured by Al-Hilal fans, who unveiled a huge banner with his face to celebrate his new milestone for his country.

His impact after coming was almost instant. He supplied an incredible pass to Malcom, who was unable to finish, but the ball was helped over the line by Nasser Al-Dawsari for their third goal.

The two Brazilians combined for the fourth goal following a swift counterattack. Neymar put it on a plate for Malcom, who finished past the goalkeeper.

Overall, it was a great debut for Neymar, who will be looking to make his full debut against Damac on 21st September.

PUMA celebrates Neymar for Brazil's milestone

Meanwhile, after Neymar became the outright leader in Brazil's all-time goal-scoring charts, PUMA immediately unveiled 78 limited-edition FUTURE boots to celebrate the milestone, as Sports Brief reported.

"Neymar has personally selected the special group that includes family, friends, coaches, current and ex-teammates, and Brazil legends, all of whom will receive the boot number that corresponds to the goals they have scored for their national team."

The shoes have 10 unique icons from images created by Neymar to represent the 10 special moments in his life.
