Super Eagles star, Emmanuel Dennis is on his way to Turkey to seal a loan move to Istanbul Basaksehir from English Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

The former Club Brugge striker failed to seal a starting berth at the City Ground, thus preferring a move to the Turkish club to get more playing time.

Dennis joined Nottingham Forest last summer from fellow English side Watford, but was mostly on the sidelines, with his compatriot Taiwo Awoniyi, and new Tottenham Hotspur signing Brennan Johnson, being preferred by Steve Cooper.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted on his official handle on X, to confirm that the Super Eagles player is on his way to Istanbul alongside his agent to complete his loan move.

According to Soccernet, The Nigerian striker will join Istanbul Basaksehir on a season-long loan, but there is no buy-out clause in his contract.

Dennis was arguably Watford's best player in the 2021-22 English Premier League season, scoring ten goals and providing six assists in 37 appearances.

He failed to replicate this form for Forest last season, and they struggled for most of the season.

In the 2023-24 season, the former Club Brugge striker was considered as surplus to requirements at the City Ground and was linked with other top clubs in the Premier League and abroad.

Dennis visits Lingard alongside Awoniyi

Sports Brief earlier reported that Nigerian superstars, Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis were captured on camera as they paid a courtesy visit to England international, Jesse Lingard.

The trio were teammates at Nottingham Forest, but the Premier League club has released Lingard following the expiration of his contract.

And footage has since gone viral on social media showing the moment the Nigerian players visited their ex-teammate in his home. Lingard was delighted to welcome the African talents to his residence.
