FootballAnthony Martial Spotted Leaving Man United Training After 5 Minutes as Reason Emerges
- Anthony Martial was spotted leaving training early on Thursday, September 14
- The United forward is in line to start against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday
- There is a hilarious reason behind Martial departing from training just five minutes after arriving
Manchester United striker, Anthony Martial was spotted leaving the club’s Carrington training grounds early in what was initially a worrying sight for fans.
The Red Devils currently have a void in their attack, after winger Antony was handed an extended leave to battle assault charges against him.
Elsewhere, Jadon Sancho, currently on a £350,000 a week deal, is at loggerheads with his manager Erik ten Hag, and there is uncertainty over his future at Old Trafford.
With all this in mind, it is safe to say Ten Hag cannot afford to have any new issues within his squad, with the team set to begin their Champions League campaign in less than a week.
Why Martial left training early
As reported on Express Sport, Martial left Carrington barely five minutes after arriving, and there is a funny reason behind it.
Manchester Evening News claims that the Frenchman was actually too early for the session, which was not going to start for another couple of hours.
The 27-year-old has featured for United in the last two games, and is a strong contender to start against Brighton on Saturday.
In terms of performances, Martial has left a lot to be desired as he has only managed 17 goals over the last three years.
The fact that he has not played the entire 90 minutes in the Premier League since 2021 is also a huge point of concern for fans, who have been critical of his fitness levels.
Martial is out of contract next summer, although United have the option to extend his deal by a further year.

FootballMaguire’s mother defends him
Sports Brief also reported on Harry Maguire’s mother’s passionate defence of her son amid criticism against him.
Zoe Maguire took to social media on Thursday to claim the criticism aimed at her son went 'beyond football'.
She also talked about being in the stands for the game, describing the current narrative 'over nothing' as unacceptable.
"I understand that in the football world, there are ups and downs, positives and negatives but what Harry receives has gone far beyond football. Harry has a massive heart and it's a good job he's mentally strong and can handle it as others may not be able to. I wish this sort of abuse on nobody!"
