FootballJack Grealish: Manchester City Star Opens Up on 'Secret' to Bulging Calves
- English winger Jack Grealish has well-defined and bulging calves on both legs
- He joined Manchester City from Aston Villa for a British record £100m in 2021
- Grealish has now revealed how he gained one of football's unique body features
If you were shown a picture of his legs only, you would easily be able to identify Jack Grealish due to his bulging calves on both legs.
The Englishman starred for his boyhood club, Aston Villa, which helped him seal a British record £100 million move to Manchester City in 2021 after the Citizens failed in their pursuit of Harry Kane.
Though he has struggled to have a consistent impact and has yet to justify his hefty transfer fee, Grealish has been one of Guardiola's regulars during last season's treble-winning season.
According to Opta Joe, he created 35 chances in the Champions League: the most by an English player, surpassing Frank Lampard's tally of 34 in the 2007/08 season.
Grealish reveals secret behind calves
The English forward has one of football's most distinguishing factors: his calves.
Not many players are blessed with muscles on the leg. Sergio Aguero and Robin van Persie are among the few that come to mind.
Speaking on the fourth edition of Champions Journal in 2022, the 28-year-old discussed his well-defined legs.
"I actually don’t do anything. It’s just something that runs in the family. My grandad always had big calves when he used to play football. I don’t do any calf exercises or calf routines in the gym or anything. Honestly, it’s just something that I’ve had since I was young."
As reported by Evening Standard, Grealish is a major doubt to face West Ham United this weekend, having missed the win over Fulham with a thigh injury.
Even without him in the line-up, City will hope to maintain their 100% record so far.

FootballGrealish sets up 'healthy bar'
Sports Brief previously reported that Grealish built a home 'healthy bar' weeks after going on a four-day bender to celebrate Manchester City's historic treble-winning season.
The 27-year-old has now built a bar in his house, but - contrary to what many think it would serve - it will only have drinks such as wheatgrass shots and spirulina smoothies.
