Andre Onana could miss up to seven Manchester United matches ahead of his return to the Cameroon national team.
The shot-stopper confirmed in August he would return to the international fold, months after he quit the team following a row with the technical bench.
The ex-Ajax ace was sent home from the World Cup in Qatar last December after a disagreement with Cameroon coach Rigobert Song over tactics and his style of goalkeeping.
However, after talks with Song and pressure from the Cameroon Government and Football Federation, the goalkeeper agreed to return to play for the national team.
Onana's return has effectively made him available for the Africa Cup of Nations finals set to be played between January and February in Ivory Coast.
According to ESPN, The Indomitable Lions secured their spot in the tournament after their 3-0 win over Burundi on Tuesday.
Onana was the match hero during the clash as he played an integral part in helping the African football powerhouse seal qualification.
Matches Onana could miss for Man United
With the AFCON finals slated for between January 13 and February 11, Onana is sure to miss a couple of Man United fixtures.
Matches against Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves, West Ham United, and Aston Villa are among those the former Inter Milan goalkeeper is set to miss.
His absence will see Erik ten Hag turn to summer arrival, Altay Bayindir, and veteran Tom Heaton to fill Onana's shoes.
According to Manchester Evening News, United secured the services of Bayindir on a four-year deal.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Andre Onana once again found himself on the receiving end after a difficult outing with Manchester United against Arsenal.
The Cameroonian was between the sticks during United's trip to the Emirates Stadium on September 3.
However, Onana had an evening to forget with the gloves on, shipping in three goals as the Gunners humbled the Red Devils at home.
