Nigerian man, Tonye Solomon has bagged a Guinness World Record after achieving a new feat by climbing on a ladder while balancing the ball on his head.
Soloman achieved this record by balancing the ball on his head and then completing 150 ladder steps while climbing a radio mast.
He accomplished this remarkable record last month by climbing a 250-foot tall radio mast while keeping control of the ball on his head. He completed the task within 12 and a half minutes.
Before this, the Bayelsa-based freestyler completed a 60km journey from Amassoma to Yenagoa while balancing a football on his head, according to GWR. Because many doubted the story, on a mission to prove them wrong, Solomon went on to set a new world record by climbing 150 steps on a ladder with a football on his head.
Guinness World Records took to their official handle on X on September 13 to confirm that the Nigerian man has successfully achieved the record.
“New record: Most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a football on the head – 150 by Tonye Solomon (Nigeria),” GWR wrote in the caption of the video shared on X.
After achieving this record, Solomon claimed that he set the record to "inspire others to do great things", and also to challenge himself. He was grateful to Nigerian Civil Defense Bayelsa State Command for granting him permission to use their facility.
“It wasn't easy,” he said.
“I thank the Nigerian Civil Defense Bayelsa State Command for allowing me to use their facility for this.”
