Europa League champions Chelsea have confirmed the departure of their captain Gary Cahill after seven and a half seasons.
The 33-year-old moved to the Stamford Bridge outfit from Bolton Wanderers in the winter of 2012 in a deal around £7 million.

He helped the Blues win their first ever Champions League title the same year after beating Bayern Munich on penalties.
He also played a key role in the team winning their first Europa League title in 2013.

FootballHe clinched two Premier Leagues, two FA Cups and one EFL trophy during his over seven-year stay at the club.
According to Chelsea official website, Cahill was a near ever-present on both occasions that his side won the EPL titles - first alongside John Terry in 2014/15, and then on the left of a back three having had to alter his game in 2016/17.

On both occasions, the former England international was named in the PFA Team of the Season, an honour he achieved on three separate occasions during his time at the club.
However, his latter years at the Stamford Bridge saw him suffer series of injuries - thereby limiting the number of games he featured in the recently concluded season.

Cahill scored a total of 25 goals in over 250 matches for the Blues in the Premier League since he made his debut in 2012.
