- South Africa's Bafana Bafana remain unbeaten in nine games under manager Hugo Broos
Kaizer Chiefs legend, Doctor Khumalo has hailed Lyle Foster for his performance for South Africa against the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Burnley striker scored the only goal in Bafana Bafana's 1-0 win against the DRC at the Orlando Stadium.
South Africa drew their last game against Namibia but responded with a stunning performance a few days later, silencing their critics - for now.
During an interview with SABC Sport via iDiskiTimes, Khumalo revealed why he was impressed with Foster's performance against The Leopards.
The Burnley striker was played out of position in the number 10 role but that did not stop him from producing a top-notch performance for the home side.
"The subs made a difference but also Foster, [as] number 10, I never thought Foster [would] give us such a [performance] or make a difference on the park," Khumalo admitted.
The Kaizer Chiefs legend also commented on the goal scored by the Burnley star in the game, claiming he was the only player who produced an impressive performance for the Bafana Bafana in the second half.
"Look at the goal he’s scored, and [in the] second half, he was the only player that was keeping the ball and making us play," Khumalo added.
South Africa's win over DR Congo helped preserve their unbeaten record under coach Hugo Broos, with their last defeat being against Morocco in June last year.
