Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is monitoring Ghanaian left back Baba Rahman for the first team according to reporter Nizaar Kinsella.
The fast-paced defender who has joined fellow Chelsea stars at the club’s Cobham training ground in London is set to start pre-season with the European champions.
27-year-old Rahman was loaned to POAK Thessaloniki in January and helped the Greek side to win the Greek Cup with impressive performances.
Rahman joined Chelsea in 2015 but has struggled to stay in the plans of successive managers, resulting in loan stints with four clubs.
According to Nizaar, Tuchel will like to see how Rahman together with the other players who were on loan perform in training before deciding on their futures.
The Blues are set to play London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham in August as part of pre-season preparations before playing Villareal in the European Super Cup on Wednesday, 11 August.
In other pre-season news, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Ghana defender, Daniel Amartey, has finally touched down in England to begin pre-season with last season's English FA Cup winners, Leicester City.
The 26-year-old center back reported to camp on Monday, July 12, 2021 as the 2016 English Premier League champions begin preparations for the 2021/22 season.
In photos sighted by YEN.com.gh on Twitter, posted by Leicester, the Black Stars player is seen arriving at the club's LCFC's training ground.
YEN.com.gh also reported on Tuesday a video of a young man, James Eduful, has emerged with him saying he wants to coach Ghana’s senior national football team.
In the video interview with SVTV host DJ Nyame, sighted by YEN.com.gh, James who is popularly known as Coach Sympathy said his dream is to become the first ever person with disability to coach the Black Stars.
Coach Sympathy said he lost his limbs when he was about six years old during a heavy downpour while going home with his mother.
