  • Ange Postecoglou recently delighted Tottenham Hotspur fans with his elite mentality
  • The Australian talked about the possibility of failing at the club like his predecessors
  • Spurs have made a bright start to the season by earning 10 points from a possible 12

Ange Postecoglou’s latest comments have left Tottenham Hotspur fans saying he is one of the best managers in the Premier League.

The Australian came to Spurs with the club in disarray, after finishing eighth on the log despite being in the top four race for most of the campaign.

The loss of Harry Kane, who departed for Bayern Munich in the summer, was another blow for the North Londoners and many seemed to write them off in the absence of their all-time leading goal-scorer.

However, Tottenham are proving to be the surprise packages this season as they have somehow managed to keep up pace with the fearsome Manchester City, four games in.

City remain the only team with a 100% record in the league so far, but Tottenham are not too far off as they have only dropped points once - during the entertaining 2-2 draw against Brentford on August 13.

This bright start to the campaign, against the odds, can be attributed to their new manager Postecoglou, whose recent comments brought to perspective his mentality as a coach.

Postecoglou takes early responsibility

The Spurs boss recently had a candid interview with TalkSport where he refused to blame other factors in case things do not go according to plan.

"If I don’t succeed, it will not be because of internal or external factors," he said as cited by SportBible.
"It is all on me from now on, the responsibility is down to me. Whatever challenges exist within this football club, I’ve accepted taking them on."

Fans were quick to point out the sly dig at Antonio Conte, whose reign as Spurs boss was filled with blame-shifts to the club’s chiefs.

While @CoysmanDan82 said:

"Wow a manager who takes responsibility. Jose and Conte have shame."

Spurs will be hoping to replicate their good form when they take on Sheffied United in their next league game on September 16.

Kane on why he left Tottenham

Sports Brief also reported on Kane's reasoning behind his Tottenham departure after the England captain was subject to a drawn-out transfer saga involving two clubs.

He signed a four-year deal with the German giants for £100 million and will be looking to help them win their 12th straight Bundesliga title, having performed well so far.

Kane said he wanted to play in the Champions League and win the medals some of his England teammates have. Kyle Walker went on to win every trophy after leaving Spurs.
