Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi was filmed worshipping God with Maverick City's song in his room.

The Leicester City midfielder was part of the Super Eagles team that walloped Sao Tome and Principe 6-0 in the final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Ndidi was named the captain for the game in the absence of William Troost-Ekong and Ahmed Musa. He was paired with Frank Onyeka in midfield but was substituted for Raphael Onyedika in the 82nd minute.

Nigeria finished the AFCON qualifying series with 15 points, with Guinea Bissau finishing second with 13 points, while Sierra Leone finished third with 5 points.

In a trending video shared by Ballersingod on Instagram, the Nigerian midfielder was seen worshipping God with a Maverick City song titled "Firm Foundation (He Won’t)" playing in the background.

Maverick City is an American contemporary gospel music group, and their song Firm Foundation (He Won’t) featured worship leaders Chandler Moore and Cody Carnes, according to iGospelsongs.

The song talks about how powerful God is and the wonderful works that he does in the lives of believers.

Ndidi will return to England after Nigeria's win over Sao Tome and Principe, as he switches focus to Leicester City's quest of returning to the English Premier League after they were relegated last season.

The Super Eagles midfielder and Kelechi Iheanacho started the season brightly with the Foxes in the Championship.

Liverpool consider swoop for Ndidi

Sports Brief also reported on Ndidi being on Liverpool's radar, with the Reds planning a shock swoop before the transfer window deadline day.

He was part of the Leicester City squad relegated from the Premier League last season but was a regular starter, even in the Championship.

However, a number of clubs were also on the trail of the Nigerian defensive midfielder, including Nottingham Forest, Bayern Munich, and the Reds.
