Former Super Eagles forward, Peter Odemwingie has tendered an apology to Nwankwo Kanu and his family over his outburst on social media which has to do with the wife of the Arsenal legend.

Osaze Odemwingie stated emphatically that he was being disturbed by Kanu Nwankwo's wife Amara who he claimed was asking him for a private chat.

When the outburst first came out by Odemwingie, Nigerians and football lovers thought the account of the former Super Eagles player was hacked.

It later turned to serious discussions between fans and sports reporters who were wondering the reason behind Odemwingie's attack on the wife of his former teammate on social media.

Many were of the opinion that the issue Odemwingie had with the wife of Nwankwo Kanu should have been settled privately and not with the way the former Stoke City star handled it.

Nwankwo Kanu later decided to reply Osaze Odemwingie over the accusation levied against his wife with the Arsenal legend claiming that he will stay with his family over any issue.

While responding, Osaze explained that he was misunderstood and therefore tendered an apology to Kanu and his family.

''I met Amara once at Watford stadium during the charity match for Kanu heart foundation and she seemed to be a lovely and humble person.
''Apologies again for any offence. Had nothing to do with the Kanu family but rather the influence of American culture on our youths.''

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Noni Madueke who currently plays for Dutch club PSV as an attacking midfielder confirmed that he is open to playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria or the Three-Lions of England.

This latest development from Noni Madueke will be a boost for the Nigerian Football Federation chiefs who have been looking for how to convince the player to play for the Super Eagles.

Over the years, Nigeria and England have engaged in serious battles over the allegiances of some players in which recently, the Three-Lions were able to have Tammy Abraham and Tomori.

NFF under the leadership of Amaju Pinnick actually wanted Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori to play for the Super Eagles, but these two Chelsea stars turned their backs against the West African nation.
