Real Madrid are not giving up on their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe, as the Spanish giants are ready to go one step further to secure the services of the 24-year-old before next summer.
The France forward has been strongly linked with Los Blancos, with Florentino Perez, a huge admirer of his qualities, now set to reach a pre-contract agreement with the Paris Saint-Germain star.
According to Football Espana, Real Madrid are willing to spend €230mil on Mbappe in wages and signing-on fees in January in order to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu next season.
Mbappe has so far resisted PSG's urge to sign a new contract, but after the attacker let Real Madrid down last summer, the Spanish club will insist on a written agreement this time around.
Real Madrid will also refuse to negotiate with PSG for Mbappe, with the 24-year-old forward’s current deal with the Parisians set to expire at the end of the season.
Madrid ready Mbappe plan B
Meanwhile, Madrid have identified potential options in case they cannot sign Kylian Mbappe, with Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez one of the players being considered, Sport Bible reports.
The 2022 World Cup winner with Argentina has a long-term contract at City that runs until the summer of 2028 and is rated highly by Pep Guardiola. However, he is behind Erling Haaland in the pecking order.
Alvarez netted 17 goals in all competitions last season for Man City, while he has already scored twice this time out.
