Hugo Broos wants his Bafana Bafana side to go out and dismantle DR Congo.
Following their goalless draw with Namibia, Broos wants the side to make a statement against the Congolese.
The South African team set up the two friendlies during the current international break, with Broos first saying that it wasn’t about results, but about seeing what the players had to offer.
The Belgian has now changed his tune, and urged his team to go all out for the win, Sowetan LIVE reported.
“The results are important; we change our mindset a little bit now. For this game against Congo, it is the results that are important,” he said.
“We have to see that we win that game. I would not want to end the camp with a draw and a defeat, not at all,” Broos added.
Broos elaborated that along with the change in mindset, there will also be a change of playing personnel as everyone will get a chance. Stars like Percy Tau, Ronwen Williams and Zakhele Lepasa didn’t start the game against Namibia and are expected to make a return to the lineup.
Broos also added that he expected more of the same passion that the side exhibited against Morocco. Bafana beat Morocco 2-1 in June to top their qualifying group for the African Cup of Nations, SuperSport reported.
Bafana will take on DR Congo on September 12 in their final friendly.
