Manchester United have announced star winger Antony will not be returning to training following accusations of domestic violence.

Antony is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Gabriel Cavalllin, with the Brazilian denying the allegations.

The Mirror reports that the former Ajax ace is currently under investigation by police in both Manchester and Sao Paolo.

The forward has since been axed from the Brazil national team for the World Cup qualifiers in the wake of the allegations.

It is understood that United stars who were not involved in the internationals were set to resume training at Carrington on Monday.

However, Antony will not be part of the group, with United granting him an indefinite leave of absence.

Antony breaks silence after United leave

The Man United ace has since broken his silence after he was granted the leave, with the youngster reiterating his innocence.

In a statement shared by Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Antony said the decision was mutually agreed 'to avoid distraction to my teammates.

“I have agreed with Manchester United to take a period of absence while I address the allegations made against me," he said.
“This was a mutual decision to avoid distraction to my teammates and unnecessary controversy for the club.
“I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them reach the truth," he added.
