Nigeria will face Sao Tome and Principe in their last Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday, September 10, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The already qualified Super Eagles need just a point to secure the top spot in Group A ahead of second-placed Guinea-Bissau, according to Punch.
Peter Ijeh says although Sao Tome and Principe are not the team that can test the Super Eagles, he emphasised that Nigerians would love to see what Jordan Torunarigha, Victor Boniface and Gift Orban could do in the national colours.
He told Sports Brief in an exclusive chat:
"Everyone will wanna see Jordan in the defense and evaluate his capabilities alongside Gift Orban and Victor Boniface.. Though São Tomé &Principe isn’t the right game to test Nigerian Eagles team capability."
"That is true the Super Eagles won 10-0. I know the expectations could be from 10-0 and above, and nothing less than 8-0 is still under development by the team. Some see scores. I pay more attention to the team buildup and dynamics."
The former Malmo FF striker gave his view on Jose Peseiro naming a strong squad for the game despite being a dead rubber tie.
"Naming a strong squad doesn’t justify a good team: A good team is justified when the 11 players plus reserve understood the rules of engagement defined. How to manage the talents for long-term dividends cohesively is the big deal," he said.
