Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his admiration for his Portugal teammates after their hard-fought one-nil victory over Slovakia in the 2024 Euro Qualifiers.
Ronaldo, who is the leading scorer for Portugal in the qualifiers with five goals, struggled to replicate his scorching form in the Saudi Pro League as he was kept at bay by the Slovakian defence.
Despite the 38-year-old's struggles, the 2016 European champions maintained their flawless record in the qualifiers, thanks to Bruno Fernandes' exceptional goal just before halftime.
The narrow victory for Roberto Martinez's squad positions them on the brink of securing early qualification, provided they emerge victorious in their upcoming match against Luxembourg on Tuesday, September 11, per GOAL.
Nonetheless, Cristiano, who doubles as skipper for Portugal, took to social media to celebrate his teammates' dedication to maintaining an unblemished record throughout the qualifiers.
"Very important victory in a difficult game! We remain invincible! Let's go Selecao," he wrote on the X App, formerly called Twitter.
Portugal has secured five wins out of five matches, keeping clean sheets in each of them.

While Ronaldo's on-field performance continues to capture the attention of spectators in various stadiums, his exemplary work ethic and lifestyle have also established him as a role model for the Saudi youth, as noted by Emenalo.
