- Dominik Szoboszlai’s girlfriend has appeared to aim a dig at Chelsea signing Romeo Lavia
- Lavia had been linked with Liverpool for weeks before Chelsea swooped in for his services
- Southampton rejected several bids from the Reds for Lavia including an offer of £50 million
Fans have been left convinced that the girlfriend of Liverpool midfielder, Dominik Szoboszlai has aimed a subtle dig at Chelsea midfielder, Romeo Lavia through her social media activity.
The Reds were keen on bolstering their midfield options in the summer and they did so by acquiring the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch, and Szoboszlai.
Things could have been even better for Jurgen Klopp’s side, however, had they managed to convince Lavia to move to Anfield but the Belgian ultimately chose Stamford Bridge instead.
The 19-year-old former Southampton player would have been perfect for Liverpool, who were looking for an additional creative central midfielder.
However, despite their relegation last season, the Saints still rejected several bids by the Reds before eventually accepting Chelsea’s £53 million offer.
Interestingly, Lavia’s move is yet to materialise as he is yet to be integrated into Mauricio Pochettino’s first team side, five games into the new season.
His early woes at Chelsea led to an Instagram account called LFC Transfers Daily to post an image with the caption as follows:
"Romeo Lavia can’t even make the bench for this Chelsea side. Might not have been the greatest career choice."
The post also had a collage of Lavia on one side with the caption 'playing for money', while Szoboszlai was on the other side under the caption 'Playing for passion'.
Hawk-eyed fans were quick to decipher some of the likes on the post and among them was Szoboszlai’s partner, Fanni Gecsek.
The stunning Gecsek boasts over 62,000 followers on Instagram and has been dating the Hungary national captain for three years, according to SportBible.
