FootballKai Havertz Sends Message to Arsenal Fans Amidst Early Struggles at New Club
- Kai Havertz joined Arsenal from London rivals Chelsea for £67.5million in June
- The German is struggling to adapt to life and fans are losing patience with him
- Havertz recently opened up on his slow start to his life at the Emirates Stadium
Arsenal fans may have to wait a little more to see the best of Kai Havertz after the German opened up on his slow start to life at the Emirates Stadium.
Havertz spent three years at Chelsea and failed to nail down a consistent impact for the Blues even though he scored in two finals - the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
As noted by ESPN, the decision of head coach, Mikel Arteta to sanction a £67.5 million deal to bring the German to Arsenal was frowned upon by fans - and time is proving them right.
He is struggling to adapt to his new midfield role and missed a glorious chance to put his team ahead in the first half against Manchester United. Even though the Gunners won the game 3-1, it could have gone the other way.
Havertz sends message to Arsenal fans
One of the major problems fans have had with Havertz since his move to England is his countenance, which mostly gives him off as a carefree player.
Speaking via Mirror UK while on international duty, the German international admitted it was not the first start where he initially struggled at a club.
"I’ve often had a phase [like this] and that you often only see the negative. It’s not the first club where I’m starting over. Of course, you want to be successful as quickly as possible, but I know that there are phases like that. I try to approach it in a relaxed manner," he said.

Arteta asks for patience from Arsenal fans
Sports Brief also reported on Arteta asking for patience over Havertz as he looks forward to studying the player more and finding a solution that suits both him and the team.
This came after fans voiced displeasure at the player's performance in their first pre-season game, where he was deployed as a left-sided number 8 but had made little impact.
