Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has waded into the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) debate, as he chooses between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Messi and Ronaldo have been the two best players in the world for the past 15 years, with both players' fans portraying their favourites as the GOAT.
Davido has been fully involved in football recently, from being featured on the official 2022 FIFA World Cup song and performing in the final, to being given the honours to perform at the 2023 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards.
The Aye crooner was put in the spotlight when he was asked to pick between the Portuguese and the Argentine National team captains.
During an interview with GOAL, the Nigerian singer claimed he loves both players, but feels Ronaldo is the greatest footballer of all time.
“Cristiano for me, you know, what outcomes, very, very disciplined," he said.
“I am a very, very disciplined person, you know, and to have that kind of success and to be so disciplined at the same time is something I’ve always admired about him.
“I like both of them. But, I personally, I’m a Ronaldo guy.”
Ronaldo Settles GOAT Debate With Lionel Messi
Sports Brief earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo may have just delivered the most important press conference in history after giving his thoughts on the rivalry between him and Lionel Messi.
The two veterans stayed at the top of the football chain for 15 years, dating back to when Ronaldo won his first Ballon d'Or in 2008 and Messi his first in 2009.
The raging and eternal debate on who is the greatest of all time between the two is one we may never see the end of, but Ronaldo's comments at Portugal's press conference may have put it to bed, per ESPN SportsCenter.
