FootballMan United Fan Who Attempted to Eat 15 Eggs After Loss to Arsenal Blames "Pressure from Fans"
- A Kenyan man attempted to consume a tray of eggs after losing a bet regarding the Arsenal vs. Man Utd match
- His mission failed miserably and he ended up in hospital
- He later revealed that his decision was down to “pressure from fans”
Days after Arsenal trumped Manchester United 3-1 in a Premier League encounter, and some people are still reeling from the effects of the game.
No one felt the aftermath of the defeat more than a Kenyan man identified as Thomas Kiptanui Kemboi, who audaciously tried to eat 15 eggs in one sitting as a result of the defeat.
United found the first goal against the run of play in the first half as Marcus Rashford was played through before cutting in on his right foot and slotting past Aaron Ramsdale.
But Arsenal, who have been tipped to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title once again, found an equalizer less than 90 seconds later through Martin Odegaard’s strike after brilliant interplay from Mikel Arteta’s side.
The second half proved to be a topsy-turvy affair as United thought they had found the winner through Alejandro Garnacho, only for his goal to be ruled out for offside, as cited on Football London.
Arsenal would capitalize on that, scoring a late winner through their £100m summer signing Declan Rice. Gabriel Jesus made sure of the result with a cheeky goal moments later.

After the victory, many fans from across the world had contrasting emotions. On one hand, Arsenal fans were ecstatic with the win, while United faithful were left licking their wounds.
For Kemboi, he was licking more than his wounds as the defeat to his favourite team meant he had to consume 15 boiled eggs in one sitting as part of fulfilling a bet with his “fans”.
Consuming eggs to those extremes is never a good idea, and the chap learnt this the hard way as he was hospitalized soon after.

FootballSpeaking after his ordeal, Kemboi tried to make sense of his actions, saying it all went down to not wanting to disappoint the people he placed the bet with.
“When Arsenal was playing with Manchester United, I told my fans if Arsenal won, I would eat a crate of eggs,” he said as cited on Standard.co.ke.
“Once they beat us 3-1, I didn’t want to fail my fans. It all came down to pressure from fans.”
Kemboi went on to narrate how dizziness overwhelmed him once he got to 15 eggs.

The supporters marched and sang Gunners' anthems as they enjoyed the moment in the Eastern Ugandan city.
A huge banner, with the result of the Premier League game boldly printed on it, was held aloft by two fans while a fleet of motorcycles followed behind and honked.
