  • Kylian Mbappe’s contract talks heralded the summer transfer window
  • The PSG star again refused to extend his contract at the French giants
  • President Nasser Al Khelaifi recently spoke about the club’s relationship with the forward

Kylian Mbappe’s name dominated the 2023 summer transfer window more than ever following the forward sending a letter to PSG stating his intention not to extend his stay at French club PSG beyond his current contract.

The forward, whose action was met with stiff resistance by the club, eventually appeared to reach a compromise following his reinstatement into the first team.

Mbappe, however, recently again rejected a new contract offering from the French Club, according to Goal’s reports, which again has revived talks about his imminent move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.

Club President Nasser Al Khelaifi has spoken about the situation between the French club and the marquee forward.

The PSG president who recently sat in an Interview with media outlet Record, was quizzed about Mbappe.

Quoted by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, khelaifi said:

“Mbappé is an incredible player and a fantastic person, I can confirm that. We have very good and positive relationship.”
“Trust me — PSG team, on and off the pitch, has never been so united.”

How the transfer future of Mbappe will play out remains a blockbuster in waiting, given the forward’s continuous silence on his end.

Spanish giants Real Madrid who have long courted the forward, have remained quiet about the signing of the forward. The club’s silence contradicts the Tribuna report which states there is already a verbal agreement between the La Liga club and the French captain.

Real Madrid plans 2024 Mbappe summer operation

Sports Brief in a previous report, stated that Real Madrid have shifted their plan to sign Kylian Mbappe to the summer of 2024.

It is reported that both parties have an agreement in principle for the transfer of the PSG star to be completed next summer.

The Spanish giants will look to weather through the 2023/24 season without a marquee number nine.
