Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen and 22 other invited players for Nigeria's game against Sao Tome and Principe have all arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Uyo.

Jose Peseiro named a strong squad for the dead rubber game against the Falcons and True Parrots Team.

The Super Eagles Camp opened on Wednesday, September 6, at the Four Points by Sheraton, with all 23 players already checked in.

Osimhen, who is one of the star players in this encounter, was one of the early birds in camp, with fellow Italian Serie A stars, Samuel Chukwueze, Ademola Lookman, and Tyronne Ebuehi following suit.

Fans surrounded the former Lille striker upon his arrival at the Super Eagles camp, as he is known to be their favourite.

New invitees, Victor Boniface, Gift Orban, and Jordan Torunarigha also arrived early to give the national team coach a good impression at the first go, according to reports on the Super Eagles' page on X.

England-based players Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi, Leicester City teammates Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, and others have all landed in Uyo.

The Super Eagles have already qualified for next year's tournament in Ivory Coast, but need a point to seal Group A's top spot ahead of second-placed Guinea-Bissau.

The match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Sao Tome and Principe is set to take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo Akwa Ibom, on Sunday, September 10.

Musa, Iwobi not invited

Sports Brief earlier reported that Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro shunned Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi, and a few others in his 23-man squad list for the final game of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying round against Sao Tome and Principe.

The omission of Iwobi, Musa, and three other senior players drew reactions from Nigerian football fans despite the tie being a dead rubber game.

According to reports on OwnGoal Nigeria, there is a reason behind the omission of the five senior players from the squad to face Sao Tome and Principe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
