South Africa national team coach, Hugo Broos plans to set up a meeting with his counterpart, Molefi Ntseki, to explain why Kaizer Chiefs players were dropped from the Bafana Bafana squad.

The Belgian manager had dropped all three Amakhosi players included in his 36-man preliminary squad for South Africa's upcoming friendlies against Namibia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Ntseki was upset by Broos' recent comments and the Bafana coach said he wanted to set the record straight.

The former Cameroon national team coach previously claimed the Chiefs players 'were not good enough' for the national team but felt he had been misquoted.

According to a report by iDiski Times, Broos has a good relationship with Ntseki, having previously wanted to bring him in as an assistant coach two years ago.

The Bafana Bafana coach was quoted as saying:

"After the game against Belgium, I’ll go back to Belgium for two weeks because after that, I have October and November [international breaks], so I have to be here."

Broos said he would use that fortnight to visit family in his homeland.

"But after those two weeks, I’ll make contact with Ntseki because I know him very well. I had a few meetings [with him] when I came here because my first idea was to have him as my assistant. But okay, it didn’t work and then came Helman [Mkhalele] and I’m very happy."

Broos explains comments about Kaizer Chiefs players

Sports Brief earlier reported that Broos had to clarify his comments after apparently claiming no player from Kaizer Chiefs deserved to be included in the national squad.

The Bafana Bafana coach recently selected his 23-man side to play Namibia and DR Congo in two friendlies and opted not to select any Amakhosi players for his team.
