FootballChelsea Star Enzo Fernandez Aims Dig at PSG With Claims Messi Is Happier in Miami
- Lionel Messi admitted to enduring a torrid time at Paris Saint-Germain
- The Argentine superstar left the French club after just two years and is at Inter Miami
- Chelsea star and Argentina teammate adds to the claims that his captain is happier away from France
Lionel Messi made the claim that he was unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain, and he continues to receive further backing for the claim from his friends and teammates.
Messi shockingly left Barcelona in 2021 after 21 years when the La Liga club could not register his new contract due to the league's financial fair play regulations.
He headed to Paris and signed a two-year contract with PSG. He struggled massively in his first season, recording only six league goals, but fared better in his second and final year.
According to Goal, his family was central to his decision to turn down a world-record salary from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal and join MLS franchise Inter Miami.
Enzo aims swipe at PSG
Enzo Fernandez was one of the young players introduced to the team after Argentina's 2-1 opening game loss to Saudi Arabia in Qatar. He secured a move to Chelsea afterwards.
Speaking to ESPN Argentina via AlbicelesteTalk after reporting for international duty he added fuel to the fire on the claims that his national team captain is happier since leaving Paris.
“Messi at MLS? Leo never stops. He is a beast. We are enjoying what he generates. He looks happier now [than in PSG] and that is the most important thing. I’m very happy for him that he’s very happy,” he said.
The 22-year-old is not the only one to have made this claim; Messi's teammate in Paris, Neymar Jr. corroborated it days ago, claiming they went through hell at the French club.
Why Messi chose Inter Miami
Sports Brief reported on Sergio Aguero explaining Messi's decision to join Inter Miami despite receiving a lucrative world-record offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal.
Aguero, a close pal of the Argentina captain, claimed the decision was made due to his family and to settle in an environment where they feel most comfortable.
