Mason Greenwood showed he is still one of the best attackers following his brilliant showing in his first training with new club Getafe after being away from the game for 18 months.

The England forward joined Getafe after parting ways with boyhood club Manchester United following the conclusion of an internal investigation following an assault charge in England.

Greenwood, who had expressed his happiness to be back playing football with Getafe according to Sport Bible, showed he is still sharp and technically gifted in his first training session with his new La Liga team, netting with both feet during one of the club’s shooting drills.

The ex-Man United forward caught the eye of the on-looking Getafe fans with his second strike after drifting the ball to his preferred left foot before drilling a low shot into the bottom corner of the post.

Greenwood could make his debut for Getafe after the international break, as he is likely to feature for Jose Bordalas's side against Osasuna on September 17.

Meanwhile, Mason Greenwood is already feeling the love from Getafe supporters after fans turned up to watch the England forward in his first training session for the La Liga club, Talk Sport reports.

In a clip showing the 21-year-old making his way onto the pitch for his first training session with his new teammates, Getafe said: "We love you Mason Greenwood."

Greenwood, who will spend the campaign on loan with the Spanish side, was cheered on by spectators at the open session, and in a different video, they were heard loudly celebrating one of his goals during a shooting drill.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Manchester United prodigy Mason Greenwood has trained for the first time with his new club, Getafe, following his 18-month hiatus from football.

The 21-year-old England international was arrested in January 2022 over charges including assault and coercive behaviour, alleged to involve his girlfriend.

Despite the Crown Prosecution Service dropping the charges in February this year, Manchester United and Greenwood agreed to part ways after the conclusion of the club's own internal investigation.
