Turkish youngster, Arda Guler heralded the headlines following his string of sensational showings for Supa Lig club Fernabahce.
The 18-year-old burst onto the season during the 2022/23 season, and became a subject of huge transfer attraction from powerhouses across Europe, including Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Unfortunately, the Turkish international, who eventually opted to play for Real Madrid, picked up an injury ahead of the club’s preseason tour in the USA, which has since ruled him out of action.
Guler, according to a Mundo Deportivo report, had to undergo surgery to speed up his recovery, and is now nearing a return. He has set his sights on a specific fixture in which he could make his debut for Los Blancos.
Guler eyes Real Madrid return
The Turkish delight completed a surgical process barely three weeks ago and is in line to make his Los Blancos debut against Atletico Madrid on either the 23rd or 24th of September.
Managing Madrid reports that Guler is aiming to make the squad for that match alongside Vinicius Jr., who is also reportedly speeding up his recovery to help cover the shortage Carlo Ancelotti’s side suffered in attack.
The reports from the Spanish outlet further state that the hierarchy at Real Madrid may be against Guler’s wish to make his debut against their cross-city rivals, given the intensity and nature of the games.
Given Guler’s enormous talent, the Spanish club is prepared to exercise caution, ensuring the young forward's optimal recovery and gradual reintegration into the team.
Guler scores Messi-esque goal
Sports Brief reported earlier that Real Madrid’s new signings have consistently impressed in their pre-season training. Tuesday saw Brahim Diaz score a goal that sent Real Madrid fans into a frenzy.
Still drooling over that worldie by the Spanish forward, Guler took things a nudge higher as he treated the fans to another sensational goal.
