FootballArsenal vs Man United: Roy Keane Genuinely Amused by Walcott’s Take on ‘Bigger’ Club
- Roy Keane aimed a dig at Theo Walcott for saying Arsenal is bigger than Manchester United
- The two football pundits clashed during a panel session prior to the game on September 3
- The blockbuster encounter saw the Gunners emerge as 3-1 winners against the Red Devils
The debate on which is the bigger club between Manchester United and Arsenal will not be settled anytime soon, that is for certain.
On paper - and based on success in recent years - it is easy to argue the Red Devils have the edge in terms of magnitude but the Gunners are no small deal either.
Not only are Arsenal one of the most followed clubs in the world but they have also experienced a resurgence in recent years under the guidance of Mikel Arteta.
This ascendancy has also seen the North Londoners get the better of their Old Trafford arch-rivals on numerous occasions on the football pitch, as cited by Soccerway.com.
Perhaps this is the reason why former Arsenal man, Theo Walcott was adamant the Gunners were more massive than Man United - a claim that left Roy Keane in fits of laughter.
Keane taunts Walcott over Arsenal claim
Ahead of the Sunday clash at the Emirates Stadium, Keane and Walcott were on punditry duty with Sky Sports.
The other ex-player on the panel was Micah Richards, who boldly asked the ex-Gunner which club he thought was bigger between Arsenal and Man United.
In an attempt to be diplomatic, Walcott said, per Sky Sports:
"Arsenal finished above Manchester United so if you were to go right now, for me, I feel like they are a club that are a bit more organised, especially behind the scenes."
Keane, who is 18 years Walcott’s senior, could not help himself as he patted the retired winger before declaring he was 'so young and naïve'.

FootballWalcott, presumably in an attempt to justify his comment, added that if one was talking overall, United were definitely above Arsenal.
Supercomputer predicts final EPL table
Sports Brief also reported on a supercomputer determining the final EPL table at the end of the season at this stage after Arsenal’s impressive win over United.
While the Gunners have been backed among favourites to challenge for the title, a prediction by bettingexpert.com has stated the Londoners will fall just short.
According to the supercomputer's prediction, Arsenal will have to settle for a second-place finish once again behind Manchester City, who are tipped for the title.
