The Nigerian striker joined Bayer Leverkusen this summer from Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise for an undisclosed fee and has had an immediate impact on Xabi Alonso's team.
The 22-year-old striker has scored four goals in three appearances in the German Bundesliga this season and also added another goal in DFB Pokal.
According to Complete Sports, Boniface's performances for the Black and Reds have earned him a nomination for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award for August. The German Bundesliga confirmed the Nigerian striker as one of the nominees on their official page on X (formerly known as Twitter).
The striker, who was just recently invited to the Nigeria national team set up, will battle for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award for August with former Barcelona midfielder Xavi Simons, who now plays for RB Leipzig, and Germany-born Nigerian goalkeeper Noah Atubolu, who plays for Freiburg.
Boniface will hope that the fans vote him ahead of others, as the winner will be decided by them on the Bundesliga website.

FootballBoniface, who arrived from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer, opened the scoring with a superb solo effort, slicing through the Darmstadt defence before elegantly chipping the 'keeper.
Yet to claim a point in two matches after returning to the top division this season, Darmstadt equalised shortly after, with Oscar Vilhelmsson tapping in from close range. Leverkusen then put the game to bed with two goals in six minutes- another for Boniface and one for Germany winger Jonas Hofmann, his first for his new club since moving from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer.
