Christian Vieri who had 49 international caps for the Italian national team and also won the Italia Serie A during the 1996-1997 season says Lionel Messi is the Harry Potter of football.
Messi grabbed a late goal from the penalty spot on Wednesday night, October 28, to complement Ousmane Dembele’s first half strike as Barcelona beat Juventus in Turin 2-0.
The Argentine dazzled in the encounter making a staggering 65 passes in the Old Lady half with Barcelona moving to six points in Champions’ League Group G.
And Vieri was full of praises for the Barcelona star as he further said that he will throw away his TV set when the six-time Ballon d’Or winner finally retires.
He said to CBS Sports as cited in GOAL:
"Messi is a magician, Harry Potter of soccer. When he stops playing, I am throwing my TV's away, I am not going to work on TV, I'm going to watch Netflix, that's it when he stops there's nothing else to watch."
It was a chance for both Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi to rekindle their rivalry as both players have been regarded as the best footballers of all time, but the Portuguese could not feature.
Ronaldo who is down with coronavirus missed the encounter and in his place Alvaro Morata impressed as he had three goals ruled out for offside.
Vieri seemed excited about Barcelona’s show on the night as he added:

Football"It's just another football, another game. I don't know how they lost against Real Madrid, but if you see them (against Juventus) you're going to say they can't lose against anyone this year, it's impossible the way they played.
"Every game is different but the Barcelona I saw and everyone saw it's just incredible. When you've got a number 10 like that, it's just crazy."
