Soccer fans took to social media to react to the news that Irvin Khoza had been re-elected, unopposed as the Chairman of the National Soccer League.

In addition to soccer fans, the Economic Freedom Fighters posted a statement congratulating Irvin on his re-election.

They praised him for his role in transforming the sport in South Africa and his commitment and passion for soccer is evident.

He has held onto the position for 18 years, ever since he was first elected in 2002. Some social media users suggested that he step aside.

Some say his proximity to the Orlando Pirates is a conflict of interest.

However, the majority of those commenting shared the sentiments of the EFF and congratulated Khoza on his re-election and mentioned that his contribution to football in South Africa has been immense.

Khoza thanked those who put their faith in him after the election at the Quadrennial General Meeting (QGM).

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt is not in a good place right now after being soundly beaten in the last five outings.

To add insult to injury. their last defeat was the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates who beat them 2-0 in the MTN8 semi-final second leg game at the FNB Stadium.

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs were dealt a difficult hand after the draws for the CAF Champions League took place in Cairo on Monday 9 November. The club will have to face Cameroon Premiership Champions PWD Bamenda in the first round.
