According to Khel Now, France will look to secure their spot in the Euro 2024 tournament if they seal their fifth consecutive win when they tackle the Republic of Ireland on September 7 to maintain the top spot in Group B.
France favourites to defeat Ireland
Meanwhile, France and Ireland will clash on Thursday, September 7, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup losing finalists have been tagged as the favourites to win the Euro 2024 qualifiers second-leg, Talk Sport reports.
Les Bleus are unbeaten in Group B after four games played. They beat Ireland in March in the reverse fixture despite not playing to their full strength against the Irish.
Ireland could be vulnerable to the attacks from France and as a result, it may be a bigger loss than the one they faced at home last time.

The biggest World Cup snubs: A list of footballers left out of their countries’ World Cup squad
FootballEarlier, Sports Brief reported that the Republic of Ireland face France on Thursday, September 7, in the Euro 2024 qualifier, and head coach Stephen Kenny says he has a plan to stop Kylian Mbappe despite his first-team right-backs being out through suspension or injury.
The 24-year-old's performance in the 2022 FIFA World Cup with France showed how difficult it is to stop him. He won the Golden Boot in Qatar with eight goals, including a superb hat-trick in the final against Argentina.
Mbappe heads into the game having scored in five of his last six international games. With Coleman and Doherty out of the game, Alan Browne, Jason Knight, and Udinese’s Festy Ebosele are all in contention for a wing-back role.
