- Endrick was taken out by a brutal tackle in the fixture away at Corinthians
Real Madrid’s quest to snap up Brazilian talents in their 'infancy' led them to the signing of young Brazilian forward, Endrick Felipe, who has taken South American football by storm with his amazing football prowess.
The La Liga giants' pursuit of youngsters is spurred by the successes they recorded with the signings of Rodrygo de Goes and Vinicius Jr, who both have grown to become the arrowheads of the Los Blancos attack.
Endrick, who is set to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 when he turns 18, per a report by Marca, was once again at the thick of the action in Palmeiras’ goalless away draw at Corinthians after coming off the bench in the 85th minute.
Endrick escapes injury after brutal tackle
The young forward, for whom Los Blancos invested a fee in the region of ₤35 million, per Football Espana, was on the receiving end of Corinthians midfielder, Maycon's brutal sweep as he charged down the field in a late counter-attacking play in the 93rd minute.
Maycon, who initially received a yellow card for the brutal tackle, was subsequently sent off after the Video Assistant Referee intervened.
Endrick surprisingly escaped the studs-up tackle unhurt.
Footage of the moment was met with mixed reactions, with many agreeing the Brazilian will be at the receiving end of many more such tackles when he completes his switch to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium outfit.
Others praised his resilience and toughness in managing to shake off the tackle.
Endrick backed to surpass Ronaldo
Sports Brief also reported on incoming Real Madrid youngster, Endrick sharing Ronaldo Nazario's mentality, according to his former youth coach at Palmeiras, Paulo Victor.
The coach backed his former player to succeed at the La Liga giants, outlining the young forward's qualities that could help him surpass the legacy of his legendary compatriot.
