Ghanaian youngster Ernest Nuamah produced an impressive debut display for Olympique Lyonnais despite defeat to French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The 19-year-old was handed a starting role just days after completing his move to the Ligue 1 outfit from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland.

Nuamah lasted 76 minutes but managed to convince the Lyon fans with his exciting performance against the star-studded PSG.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Nuamah left PSG defender Lucas Hernandez lost after skillfully outwitting his marker.

The 2023 Golden Boy nominee is expected to play a pivotal role in Lyon's campaign this season.

In an exciting game at the Groupama stadium, Kylian Mbappe broke the deadlock in the fourth minute from the spot before Achraf Hakimi doubled the lead 16 minutes later.

Former Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio extended the advantage moments later before Mbappe completed his brace at the stroke of half-time.

After the break, Corentin Tolisso pulled one back for the hosts, but PSG were too hot to handle for Olympique Lyon.

Nuamah will head to Ghana on Monday for the final 2023 AFCON qualifier against the Central African Republic on September 7, 2023, as reported by GHANASoccernet.

Ernest Nuamah has joined Olympique Lyonnais

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that highly-rated Ghanaian youngster, Ernest Nuamah has joined French giants Olympique Lyonnais in the summer transfer window from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland.

The 19-year-old signed a deal reportedly worth a €25m fixed fee plus €5m add-ons, making him the club's most expensive signing.

Nuamah also becomes the most expensive transfer from the Danish league, breaking the record set by compatriot Kamaldeen Sulemena following his move to Stade Rennais in 2021.

Hughton names Ghana squad for CAR clash

Arsenal star Thomas Partey has not been named in the Ghana squad to face the Central African Republic in the final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier next week.

Partey has reportedly picked an injury and will be out for a while, leaving Chris Hughton with no option than to name his team without his deputy captain.

His absence will be a huge blow for the Black Stars who need at least a draw to qualify for the tournament in Ivory Coast next year.
