Neymar Jr’s six-year stay at Paris Saint Germain did not go as predicted for many, a sentiment shared by many, including the Brazilian forward himself, who recently reflected on his time with the French giant.
Following his mega-money transfer from Barcelona in the summer of 2017, fans of the Parisian club had high expectations from their record signing. Unfortunately, these hopes were shattered as Neymar’s stint at the Ligue 1 club was plagued by recurring injuries.
Not deterred by the happenings around Neymar, the club bolstered their attack with the addition of Lionel Messi, nurturing dreams of a formidable partnership between the trio of Messi, Neymar, and star forward Kylian Mbappe that would lead them to the coveted UEFA Champions League title.
However, the French giant once again were left to bite the dust as the union of the iconic trio were marred with a consecutive round of 16 in the UCL.
The club, reacting to their long hall of failure, decided to do away with a few of their marquee stars, including Neymar and Messi.
The Brazilian, however reacted to the treatment he, alongside Messi, were met with at the French club, dubbing it as ‘hell’ in his recent interview with Brazilian outlet Globo.
The words of Neymar have not gone unnoticed, and current PSG gaffer Luis Enrique – who inadvertently spearheads the exits at the club has reacted.
Luis Enrique reacts to Neymar’s claim
The Spanish manager, speaking after his team’s 4-0 win at league rivals Lyon, as quoted by PSGHub, said:
“Neymar’s statements that he and Messi time here were like ‘hell’?

The French club also reacted to the remarks made by their former superstar, as reported by L'Equipe:
“We don’t make any comments.
“We have a certain elegance. Curiously, both players wanted to stay at PSG.”
Neymar isn’t the only individual to have taken a swipe at the Parisian club, with the agent of midfield outcast previously labelling the club as a ‘prison’.
