  • Kai Havertz struggled yet again during Arsenal's 3-1 victory over Manchester United
  • The German produced a poor miss that could have given his team the first-half lead
  • Mikel Arteta came to the defence of his £65 million signing again at a press conference

Mikel Arteta had better brace for more million-dollar questions about Kai Havertz after the German struggled again, with the Arsenal manager having to defend his star once again.

Fans continue to be proven right that the decision to pay £65 million for Havertz was a bad one, considering he played for three years at Chelsea without making any consistent impact.

The German continues to get minutes but is not justifying his selection, with his horror miss on Sunday - which could have given his team the lead in the first half against Manchester United - leaving the fans fuming.

Havertz's substitution coincided with an improvement in his team - mainly in the midfield - with the introduction of Fabio Vieira credited with Arsenal producing two late goals to seal the victory.

What Arteta said to Havertz

The former Chelsea star's bleak displays are the source of constant questions for the Spanish coach at every press conference and this time, he had an interesting answer, via FourFourTwo:

"I said to [Havertz] yesterday, things are hard in the beginning. When I met my wife, in the beginning, it was hard to conquer her and I had to try and keep messaging."
"In the end, she said yes, she wanted to be together and it was beautiful. If it is a yes on the first day, it is not that great. I think the crowd was really good with him today."

As reported by Daily Star, Arteta has two children with Spanish actress and model, Lorena Bernal but their love story was not an immediate success.

Piers Morgan slams Arteta and Havertz

Sports Brief also reported on outspoken media personality, Piers Morgan slamming Arteta and Havertz after the German struggled again in Arsenal's 2-2 draw against London neighbours, Fulham.

The controversial broadcaster was highly critical of the coach 'tinkering with a working system' to favour his new signing, which forced Thomas Partey to right-back and Gabriel Magalhaes to depart.

Arteta asks for patience from Arsenal fans

Sports Brief also reported on Arteta asking for patience with Havertz from fans as he looks at 'studying the player more' and finding a solution suiting both him and the team.

This came after fans voiced their displeasure at the German's performance in their first pre-season game, where he was deployed as a left-sided 8 but did not make an impact.
